Sencha is un-covered, open-air cultivated sencha with a refreshing, cool taste, just as sencha should be. Gyokuro teas are grown under cover and have a profound flavor, just like gyokuro teas. We will continue to offer teas that are delicious to drink, without being bound only by shape and appearance. The first sprouts of the season are the first green tea leaves. Only the youngest buds are used for this top-grade shincha. The fresh aroma unique to new tea rushes through your mouth the moment you take a sip, an aroma that can be said to be that of new tea from Uji. After the unique flavor and subtle sweetness of sencha, there is a delicious bitter taste that is the charm of high-quality new tea. This is the ideal type of Uji-no-Shincha. Shincha (New Green Tea) Shincha refers to tea harvested in the spring of the year (i.e., first tea, which in Uji starts around the beginning of May). Of course, there are also new teas such as Tencha, Gyokuro, and Kabusecha, but we sell only Sencha as “new tea”. The greatest appeal of shincha is its youthful, fresh aroma. The aroma of shincha, which is only available during a limited season, reminds us of the fresh season from spring to early summer.
