Yukikaze was the eighth ship of this class, completed in January 1940. She participated in major operations during the Pacific War, including the Battle of Midway, the Battle of Guadalcanal, the Battle of the Philippine Sea, and the Battle of Leyte Gulf, and was also engaged in convoy escort and transport missions, constantly engaged in fierce battles on the front lines, but she emerged from the war almost unscathed, making her a miracle destroyer.
